This delightful band are all the way from Sydney, Australia who seem to be feeding us a lot of rather good music at the moment and ‘Mexican Mavis‘ is not just the name of my mother, Mavis is, not Mexican Mavis, but a great song.  If you like Fleet Foxes, Iron & Wine and Mumford & Sons then I’m pretty sure that you’ll like Boy & Bear.  It’s melodic and meaty with folky undertones and reminiscent of 70s goodness too.  Interestingly, they are made up of three front of men from different bands, imagine, three front men writing songs together?  It should be the recipe for disaster but they’ve produced some seriously catchy songs here.  Hop on over to our friends at Music Glue who’ll give you a free download of Mexican Mavis in return for your email address, simples.  Boy & Bear are supporting another of our favourite artists, Laura Marling, (congrats for going straight into the UK Album Charts at no.4 this week with ‘I Speak Because I Can’) on her UK tour, to which I massively encourage you to buy a ticket.
