WHY:

This is my favourite track of theirs. I just really like the lyrics. “She’s got gold doorknobs where her eyes used to be”. That lyric has often made me wonder what this would look like if it were real.

A mixture of Northern Soul, Motown and contemporary indie, Various Cruelties are poised to be one of 2012′s biggest acts having already supported The Vaccines, played on Jools Holland and picking up support from Huw Stevens, Steve Lamacq, Zane Lowe and Rob Da Bank. They’re releasing their debut album in March of next year.

    Best song indeed and I feel like it’s one of the few off this album that will stand the test of time. Great visuals in the lyrics. Jumper cable lips – dig it.
