I was out the other night and this track came on. Firstly, I was delighted as I know this guy from back in Leeds and he’s been grafting pretty hard. Secondly, I realised what a total tune this is! Its gonna be a massive hit! As an artist Eliphino could be an influential part in the future of UK hip hop. I know for a fact he has loads of other songs that are as good as this track if not better.
A mixture of Northern Soul, Motown and contemporary indie, Various Cruelties are poised to be one of 2012′s biggest acts having already supported The Vaccines, played on Jools Holland and picking up support from Huw Stevens, Steve Lamacq, Zane Lowe and Rob Da Bank. love how it morphs into from dub into kraftwek at about the 4:50 mark….then, at about 5:50, the tracks start disappearing one by one like the cheshire cat…..it does leave a smile, though
