This post was created before our first redesign so looks a bit squee-wiff, we are in the process of transferring older posts to our new layout but this is a lengthy process

Exclusive: Roses Kings Castles – “One Born Every Minute”

WHO: Roses Kings Castles

WHAT: “One Born Every Minute”

WHERE: London, UK

WHY: Roses Kings Castles is the Adam Ficek. Not only a dear friend of mine but also one of London’s very hidden solo talents, despite his other job as drummer of the notorious Babyshambles. He released his self-titled, self-produced DIY debut album last year on 360 Degree Music and ever since then has been going from strength to strength honing his skill as a credible solo artist. His new album, ‘Surburban Time Bombs’, to be released again on 360 Degree Music in April, shows a darker more mature side of Adam and this track in particular is a big favourite of mine. Sounding like it’s just been lifted from the beginning of a new Quentin Tarantino film; a sinister, atmospheric double-bass lays beautifully paired off against a harsh snare underneath Adam’s stern accusation that those human beings we meet who we aren’t too fond of always seem to appear when we least want them to.
