WHY: This track was first released by The Valentinos in June of 1964 in the US, it became The Rolling Stone’s first UK number one in July of that same year and has since been released by around fifteen different artists with varying degrees of success. The Dirty Dozen Brass Band recorded this with Dr. John on vocals and keys for their 1989 album, Voodoo, and I think it’s the best of the lot. Brass makes everything better.
