It’s not covers week, but TOO BAD. The Fugees’ version of Killing Me Softly strips down the Roberta Flack version (which incidentally is a cover of the original written by Lori Lieberman who wrote it after seeing Don McLean play), samples A Tribe Called Quest’s ‘Bonita Applebum‘ and turned the soul classic into a 90s classic. It’s not the best track on The Score, that honour is reserved for ‘Ready Or Not,’ but it’s by far the most memorable.
