Canadian born Caribou (Daniel Victor Snaith) thankfully chose to live in the UK after completing his PhD in Mathematics (amazing) in 2005. He crafts beautiful music that is so original it hurts. ’Odessa’ is an instantly lovable track with a bouncing beat and subtle vocals, just as good listened to quietly or full blast. I have listened to this song an embarrassing number of times this year and for that reason it is, without a doubt, the track of 2010 for me.

There’s obviously a good chance each editor has already featured their first choice at some point in the year so in order to avoid repeating ourselves, some of these may be second or even third choices, but hey, either way, these are some of the very best tracks of 2010.
