Lots of people are probably very aware of House of Love. However, as they split in 1993 they’re a bit before my time. After reading a book about Creation records I was curious to give them a blast. I think this is a great pop single! Makes this era feel quite special to me even though I was never part of it.
A mixture of Northern Soul, Motown and contemporary indie, Various Cruelties are poised to be one of 2012′s biggest acts having already supported The Vaccines, played on Jools Holland and picking up support from Huw Stevens, Steve Lamacq, Zane Lowe and Rob Da Bank. They’re releasing their debut album in March of next year.
